Unfortunately, when Kathy Lague, a founder of FairGrade Loudoun, presented to School Board members at the June 3 meeting an invitation to attend FairGrade Loudoun's informational meeting, three members of the School Board felt the need to comment negatively on any change to the current grading scale, without having examined the considerable amount of evidence that FairGrade Loudoun, in cooperation with Fairfax County's FairGrade group, has gathered. None of the School Board members, nor any member of the school administration, attended FairGrade Loudoun's presentation.
To date, FairGrade Loudoun has gathered nearly 1,000 signatures on a petition to the School Board asking them to consider changing to the 10-point grading system. Loudoun residents interested in signing the petition can find a link to it on FairGrade Loudoun's Web site, which can be found at www.fairgradeloudoun.org.
