Loudoun Country Day School Open HouseLoudoun Country Day School in Leesburg will host an open house Aug. 21 at 7 p.m.
Randy Hollister, headmaster of the school for the past 15 years, will give an overview of the school's academic program and philosophy.
He will also discuss the new campus on Evergreen Mill Road, scheduled to open in fall 2009. A question and answer session will follow.

"Tools for School" items being collected
The Loudoun County chapter of the Salvation Army is collecting school supplies through its "Tools For School" program at the main entrance to Dulles Town Center and the customer service centers at the Wal-Mart stores in Leesburg and Sterling this month.
The program allows shoppers to choose a child's name from a tree and purchase a new outfit and school supplies for the child's return to school.
The names are provided by the children's families, who must qualify for the program through The Salvation Army.
The "Tools For School" locations are open during the following hours: Dulles Town Center, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Mondays to Saturdays; and both Walmart stores, are open store hours. For more information call 703-771-3371.
Back to school workshop
Celebrate Calm will provide strategies for parents and teachers to create a stress-free home or classroom at a free back-to-school workshop Aug. 27 from 7 to 9 p.m.
The event will take place at at Tolbert Elementary School, 691 Potomac Station Drive, N.E., Leesburg.
