By Cheryl Kosmann

Humane Foundation: Please help Middleburg Humane Foundation win a $25,000 grant to benefit the animals. It's very easy and takes less then 30 seconds. You just log onto www.middleburghumane.com and click on "Vote for MHF" every day through Dec. 14. The rescue site with the most votes win.

Christmas: Christmas in Middleburg is scheduled for Dec. 6 this year. The fun day will start at 8 a.m. and continue until 10 a.m. with breakfast with Santa and a silent auction at the Middleburg Elementary School.

This is followed by activities that run 10 a.m.-5 p.m. with the Middleburg Garden Club's Christmas Flower and Greens Show. The annual craft show will be at the community center all day with no admission fee beginning at 9 a.m.

The very special hunt ride through the village with 100 riders and dozens of hounds will be at 11 a.m. sharp. Hayrides will be available from the Pink Box porch immediately following the hunt parade until 2 p.m.

The Christmas parade will be at 3 p.m. with Santa at the end of the parade on the PNC bank porch. Make plans to meet friends to spend the day in the village.
