Thanksgiving services, the Hamilton Trio, and North Fork Baptist's schedule

By Beth Lucas

Thanksgiving services: North Fork Baptist Church is swinging into the holiday season with its traditional services. Thanksgiving Eve the congregation will celebrate its thankfulness for freedom, family and the Lord's many blessings. The candlelight service begins at 7 p.m. and includes communion. If you have never been to a candlelight service in an old church, do not miss it. With the lights out and the smoky aroma of old wood, you are seeped in history. You can almost hear the voices of the Confederate company that once camped on the church's front lawn.

Hamilton Trio: Once again, the Hamilton Trio returns for its annual concert at the church. This year we will hear them at 7 p.m. Dec. 7. Be sure to get there early because there are few seats left in the house.

North Fork Baptist: Later in December, North Fork Baptist has its traditional candlelight Christmas Eve service. This is your second chance to catch a wonderful community event. Folks bring their whole families and it is standing room only.

Why not visit the church this Sunday? Services are at 11 p.m., prefaced by Sunday school at 9:30 a.m. and a social time between activities. This is a very friendly bunch of folks, most of whom live right here at North Fork.
