Oliver A. Pawlik

Died June 22, 2008

Veteran and furniture store owner, Leesburg

 

Oliver Anthony Pawlik, 86, of Leesburg, a veteran and furniture store owner, died June 22 at Veterans Administration Hospital.

Mr. Pawlik was born May 30, 1922, to the late Frank W. and Louise Fender Pawlik.

He was a fighter pilot in World War II and flew in several campaigns before being shot down. For his service, he earned many decorations, including the Purple Heart.

After the war, he ran Pawlik's Furniture and Upholstery in Chicago. He was active in the Chamber of Commerce, the American Legion, the VFW, Moose Lodge and Knights of Columbus.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Victoria L. Pawlik.

Survivors include his wife, Herta M. Pawlik of Leesburg; two daughters, Christine F. Cozza of Herndon and Anamarie Lerma of Leesburg; two sons, Theodore F. Pawlik of Arizona and Richard A. Pawlik of Virginia; a sister, Mildred Walworth of Wisconsin; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
